Furthermore, the administration of SR 9011 led to decreased production of cholesterol and bile acids in the liver. All these results indicate that SR 9011 may have the potential ability to positively affect the mice’s whole-body metabolism.

SR 9011 and Wakefulness

SR 9011-treated mice developed a large increase in wakefulness that was maintained for 2 hours post-injection, results from an animal study show. The increase in wakefulness remained intact for 12 hours, after which mice recovered their normal sleep pattern. [R]

Based on these results, the researchers conducting the study concluded that the administration of SR 9011 may potentially suppress sleep and stimulates wakefulness. However, the effect is acute or short-lasting, which is consistent with the short half-life of this compound.

SR 9011 and Heart Disease

A mice study was conducted to investigate the effect of SR 9011 and SR 9009 on the progression of myocardial infarction (MI) and heart failure. Both were reported to potentially improve hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and skeletal muscle oxidative capacity. [R]

In terms of clinical implications, the present study suggests that Rev-Erb agonists can be a promising novel compound for MI and heart failure.

SR 9011 and Anxiety

In the abovementioned study, the administration of SR 9011 decreased anxiety-like behavior among the mice.
